Morning briefing and catch-me-up

How do I get a morning briefing or catch up on what I missed since lunch?

What it does

The morning briefing is your daily heads-up, pulling together everything you need to start your day prepared. It checks your connected tools and gives you a spoken or written summary, so you know what’s coming up and what needs attention. The briefing covers payments and overdue invoices from Xero, today’s and tomorrow’s Fergus or Simpro jobs, calendar events from Outlook and Google Calendar for the rest of today and tomorrow, Fergus, Simpro and Planner tasks assigned to you that are due today or overdue, your action items, and the weather for your set location. If you use Xero, you’ll see who paid overnight and what’s still outstanding. The briefing is available by voice or chat, so you can get it hands-free or read it on your screen.

If you’ve been away from your phone or in a long meeting, you can also ask the assistant to catch you up on what you missed. Just say, for example, “What did I miss since lunch?” The assistant will summarise all new calls, emails, voicemails, jobs, payments, tasks, and action items since the time you choose.

How to use it

You can get your morning briefing or a catch-up in two ways: by talking to the voice assistant or by typing to the chat assistant. Just say or type something like “Give me my morning briefing” or “What did I miss since lunch?”

The assistant checks your connected tools, like Fergus or Simpro for jobs, Xero for payments, Outlook Calendar and Google Calendar for events, and your email for the latest info. You’ll hear or see a summary that covers:

If you want a catch-up, just ask for the time period you want (for example, “Catch me up on the last three hours”). The assistant will summarise all new calls, emails, voicemails, jobs, payments, tasks, and action items since then.

Tips

The morning briefing and catch-up are there to save you time and keep you on top of things, so you don’t have to dig through emails or notes. Just ask, and you’re sorted.
